  • We put huge emphasis on building long-term relationships with our client base and take pride in understanding exactly how individual businesses approach investments, asset allocation, portfolio construction etc. and the role of third-party funds within that framework: this ensures that we only approach them with relevant product.
  • We partner with managers who are prepared to properly resource their asset gathering activities and give our prospective investors access to their investment professionals.

In order to ascertain whether a fund management capability is appropriate for our client base, we conduct the following due-diligence:

 

  • We rigorously investigate the investment process, corporate structure, risk management procedures etc of the prospective fund management capability to determine credibility, robustness and potential investor suitability. Our fund analyst takes the lead in this process but the partners and directors are also fully involved throughout.
  • We market test the business with a core group of fund buyers and industry commentators. The results of this test confirms or contradicts our view of demand for the asset class, and the credibility and robustness of investment process and management team.
  • We appraise the cultural fit of the fund manager to ensure their views, approach and personalities are aligned with our fund-buying market and also with our targets and expectations for growing their business.
